Chapter 9: Hubris
Core Objective
To expose the terminal delusion of techno-salvational solutions, such as
carbon capture and solar radiation management. This chapter deconstructs how
these geoengineering interventions are not solutions, but high-energy
planetary amplifications that lock the global economy deeper into its
extraction loop, ensuring its final systemic entrapment.
The illusion that humanity can deploy its own industrial and digital creations
to escape the physical execution of cosmic judgment is directly addressed in
the tracking of the Earth’s inner structural decay:
The Prophecy
"And the nations were angry, and Your wrath has come... and to destroy those
who destroy the earth." — Revelation 11:18
In the original Koine Greek text, this self-inflicted planetary corruption is
defined by a precise, repeating root word:
-
Διαφθεῖραι τοὺς διαφθείροντας (Diaphtheirai tous
diaphtheirontas): This translates literally to "to utterly ruin
those who are ruining." The verb diaphtheirō means to corrupt, spoil, or rot
an object from within its own structural layers. The text does not imply
that the destroyers are using physical weapons to blow up the terrain; it
notes that they are diaphtheirontas—ruining the operational integrity of the
earth by altering its internal design.
-
Τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν (Ta erga autōn): This highlights Babylon’s
absolute dependence on "the works of their own hands." When the climate
engine fails, the system’s immediate response is to deploy more machinery,
more algorithms, and more industrial interventions, completely blind to the
reality that the cure is accelerating the disease.

The fundamental deception of modern Babylon’s environmental policy is the
concept of "decarbonization" through green technology. Rulers and financial
institutions build vast investment frameworks around Carbon Capture and
Storage (CCS) facilities and industrial geoengineering networks. They promise
that human engineering can mechanically vacuum the carbon out of the
atmosphere and safely store it underground forever.
This model is a mathematical and thermodynamic impossibility.
-
The Net-Energy Trap: Vacuums and chemical extraction plants operate on
strict laws of physics. To pull dispersed molecules of carbon dioxide out of
the open atmosphere requires immense, concentrated kinetic energy. The
industrial infrastructure needed to construct, power, and scale these
capture networks requires massive resource extraction—mining, manufacturing,
and electrical grids that generate a massive net-increase in carbon
emissions before a single ton is captured.
-
The Extraction Feedback Loop: Instead of stopping the economic machinery
(Strenos) that broke the planetary balance, carbon capture is explicitly
utilized as a license to accelerate it. The vast majority of modern
operational CCS facilities are deployed directly at oil wells for "Enhanced
Oil Recovery" (EOR)—pumping captured carbon down into the ground
specifically to force the last, deep reservoirs of heavy crude oil up to the
surface. The "fix" is physically engineered to fuel the extraction loop.
The Final Blind Spot: Solar Radiation Management (SRM)
As the rate-driven multipliers explored in Chapter 2 bend the global
temperature curve vertically, Babylon’s desperation shifts toward direct
atmospheric modification: Solar Radiation Management (SRM). This process
involves spraying millions of tons of reflective sulfur dioxide particles
directly into the stratosphere via fleets of high-altitude aircraft to
artificially mimic a volcanic eruption, blocking out a fraction of incoming
sunlight.
This intervention is the ultimate expression of Anomia (hostility to divine
law), and it triggers a catastrophic multi-system failure:
-
The Poisoning of the Remaining Sinks: Artificially dimming
the sun drastically reduces solar irradiance. New research demonstrates that
this dimming disrupts the precise light requirements of global vegetation.
The reduction in sunlight, combined with the ground-level ozone created by
sulfur pollution, chemically shocks surviving plant life—cutting the carbon
absorption capacity of global crops and remaining forests by a massive 24%.
-
The Precipitation Snap: Altering the atmospheric reflective
lens instantly weakens global monsoon cycles and shifts historical rain
bands. The fields that feed the primary breadbaskets are plunged into
artificial, unpredictable droughts, transforming regional crop deficits into
instant global starvation (Limos).
-
The Termination Shock Trap: Once an SRM veil is deployed,
humanity cannot stop spraying without triggering an immediate, vertical
rebound. If the artificial sulfur shield falls for even a few months due to
grid failure or economic collapse, decades of trapped, latent greenhouse
heat will break through all at once. Temperatures would spike by several
degrees in a matter of weeks, flash-frying the entire global biosphere
instantly.
The Scriptural Consistency: The Inner Rot of the Technocracy
Babylon relies on its advanced technocracy to prove that it can control the
climate engine. It assumes that the planet is a mechanical clock that human
hands can adjust, modify, and optimize to maintain its infinite consumerist
expansion.
But the original Greek text exposes the self-executing nature of the trap. By
defining the targets of final judgment as tous diaphtheirontas tēn gēn (those
who corrupt the earth from within), scripture explicitly models the mechanism
of geoengineering. Humanity’s attempts to "fix" global warming with its own
hands (Ta erga autōn) do not stabilize creation; they break its underlying
systems permanently.
SRM and industrial carbon extraction are the final, desperate acts of a
civilization attempting to out-engineer God’s design. By altering the air,
dimming the sun, and poisoning the remaining agricultural sinks, the
destroyers ensure their own internal ruin, proving that Babylon’s technology
is the very mechanism of its foretold execution.
They couldn't clean up a little garbage patch in the ocean. How are they going to stop the sun?
